When We Use the Perfect Tense

The preterite tense, also known as the pretérito perfecto in Spanish, is used to express actions that have been completed recently or that still have an impact on the present.

In order to conjugate “permitir” in the preterite perfect tense, you need to conjugate the auxiliary verb ”haber” and add the past participle of “permitir” – “permitido”.

This is also the structure for the remaining tenses we’ll cover in this guide.

Examples of Permitir in the Perfect Tense

  1. Yo he permitido que se hagan cambios en el proyecto. (I have allowed changes to be made to the project.)
